Our Story
Four Kids from Regina SK ready to impress you with their criminally good intelligent rock vibes. These kids will rock your socks off, steal your headphones and then spray-paint their tag on your musical soul.
The group dynamic within The Criminal Kid has been strong since the first jam the four members ever had together. Since then, their chemistry has constantly grown stronger and their unique rock sound quickly captures the attentions of their audiences.
The Criminal Kid will hit you hard with their driving guitars and powerful vocals. They will make you dance with their upbeat drums and catchy lyrics. They will calm you down with their well crafted melodies and heart-warming piano. It is this well mastered control of dynamics and vast variety in songwriting that makes The Criminal Kid the must-see upcoming Canadian rock group.
Project Description
We are teaming up with Makeshift Studios to deliver a new record.Little Wind is the debut full-length recording of the emerging modern indie rock band The Criminal Kid. This album is an edgy, modern take on the alternative and indie music scenes. All band members are seasoned veterans of both performing and recording, and will optimize their studio time. This Regina-based group will be creating an album of 10-12 tracks recorded and mixed at home-grown Makeshift Studios (Left English, Ink Road, Hello Lady). The four members will record in January 2011 for roughly 12 days, and mix over the months of February/March for roughly 12-15 days. Upon completion of mixing, the album will be mastered at Lacquer Channel (Metric, Hawksley Workman, K-OS) in Toronto, a prestigious and high-quality Mastering company. Distribution will be as a conventional CD and a special edition CD with bonus tracks in stores across Canada. In addition to that, it will be sold through iTunes, Bandcamp, and other online means. Promotion will come through social media, street teams, as well as a music video. Little Wind will be a welcome addition to both Saskatchewan's and Canada's music scene.
What we need
MONEY! There are inevitable, unavoidable costs that need to be covered. Although we have applied for funding from other places, depending on what we get, we'll be able to do more. We are asking to cover the hard costs of recording, mixing and mastering. We've been quoted $3500 by the Makeshift Studios for both recording and mixing (a steal), $1200 for the mastering, and anything left over will go to reproduction or promotion.Other Ways You Can Help
