Our Story

In the spirit of the 1980's classic "Stand By Me"  "Like School On A Saturday" is a feel good story about a 13 year old boy named COREY HAMPTON who reluctantly takes a 100 mile road trip with his best friend Gretchen, from the manicured lawns of Pennsylvania to the busy streets of NYC to see the monument of a rarely talked about fallen soldier.

Both Corey and Gretchen have lost their brothers in the war in Iraq so in Gretchen's mind this trip would be therapeutic for the two of them. Corey on the other hand doesn't think he needs therapy but feels that he's okay with the whole situation. That is until he meets Mr Macaby, a retired Military Sargent who teaches Corey about life death, and sacrifice.

Through hysterically funny mishaps and heart warming topics that will touch the soul, Like School On A Saturday is a story that should not be missed.

As the owner of Stop and Watch Films Inc., an independent New York City based film company, I am privilege and honored to be able to write and direct good quality films for the fraction of the cost of than larger studios. This is accomplished through the contacts Ive gained over the past few years since starting my company in 2008.

My first feature film White Boy Brown http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxyC9BYa9C8 which was completed in 2009 for just under $6,000 screened in early December at the African Diaspora International Film Festival and C.O.D.C FILM SERIES in Brooklyn NY.  To us at Stop and Watch Films Inc. this was a great success. White Boy Brown is currently being sold online at Filmbaby.com And at Major Records and Video Store located in Staten Island NY. But we will not stop here. We are in pre-production on our second feature film Like School On A Saturday.

We are Looking to raise $3,000 from friends, family and indy film fans to supplement capital that we are hoping to receive from grants in the coming months. This would help us with the cost of production which will include the cost of much needed equipment, food for the cast and crew during filming, and props for the film.
