Our Story
Thousands of corroded copper urns containing the cremated remains of unclaimed psychiatric patients are discovered in 2004. A tour of the Oregon State Hospital involving the local press and a State Senator was conducted to uncover the deplorable conditions of the hospital. What they didn't expect to find was a storeroom full of human ashes dating back to the late 1800's. Photos are taken of the mysterious corrosive effect on the canisters and several histories of these forgotten souls are revealed in this unique tale.

The Impact
The subject of mental health is a sensitive one. People have been put away and forgotten in this mental health facility for over a century, yet nearly each one of us is impacted by a psychiatric condition or addiction within ourselves or our families. Our story will combine the delicate subject of mental illness, a brief history of this hospital and personal journeys of people discovering lost love ones since the story of these unclaimed cremains was made public. Through candid discussions with patients, doctors, reunited families, artists and politicians, our intention is that this film with create a discourse for this misunderstood topic.
What We Need & What You Get
Many folks have stepped forward with amazing services and assisted us in so many generous ways. We need to keep our editing team paid as we polish the final cut of our film. We have sent rough cuts to a few festivals and there are costs involved with this as well. We also need funding for our composer as we have an original score. There are more graphics, color correction, sound mix, office rental, edit system rental, shipping and receiving so we can place this where it will be seen by many. We have completed shooting and finished the trailer above. We hope to raise some of the funds for this phase of Post Production and the costs to bring this film to the public thru festivals all over the country.
