After dying in his office late at night, John Isaac is refused entrance into Heaven because of his life-long sarcastic and irreverent attitude. His spirit is sent back to the law firm where he has worked the past ten years to earn his wings. He immediately befriends his replacement, Bob Hagan, who, unbeknownst to John, has a long standing romantic relationship with the firm’s Receptionist, Victoria Birdsong. As daily operational issues arise, and he slowly begins to figure out Bob and Victoria are more than co-workers, John lends his experience, expertise, sarcasm, irreverent attitude, and opinions to Bob as he struggles with the idea of seeing ghosts and cleaning up the dysfunctional environment John left behind. But, before his first day on the job ends, Bob is asked to put all his efforts into preventing the firm’s Managing Partner, Hillary Parker, from being charged with John’s murder, while the firm’s diabolical and ever scheming, Sooner Fairbanks, plots to take over.
