“Late” is the story of Benjamin Heath, an average college student in Philadelphia. Ben is a second year student trying to accomplish the everyday tasks of being a student; studying, socializing, trying to get a job above minimum wage, and student org life. However, his life is turned upside down by the financial crisis sweeping the United States. Due to the recession, his loans are cancelled, his parents file for bankruptcy, and Ben even loses his work-study job. In the face of possible financial expulsion from school he turns to a manipulative but funny older friend, B-low or “Blow”, who eventually reveals himself to be a drug dealer. In his tight position Ben decides to join B-low’s effort to try to become the number one seller in the university and surrounding area. Ben is rapidly thrust into the life of late phone calls, extravagant parties, and more than enough spending cash. Although at first he is somewhat allured by the life of the pusher, he eventually that he may have bitten off more than he can chew…
