About Me

 
Following an award-winning career as a still photographer Keri Pickett is now also a documentary filmmaker. Keri Pickett's artistic vision centers on how individuals and communities come together around their value systems.

Author of Love in the 90s, B.B. and Jo; The Story of a Lifelong Love (Warner Books, 1995), Faeries (Aperture Books, 2000) and Saving Body & Soul, The Mission of Mary Jo Copeland Photographs by Keri Pickett, Essays and Interviews by Margaret Nelson (Random House, 2005), her work often shows how much a few people can change the world.

Pickett is the recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Bush, McKnight, Jerome and Target Foundations and the Minnesota State Arts Board. Solo Exhibits include the New Orleans Museum of Art and the South Eastern Museum of Art with photographs in group exhibits including NAFOTO in Brazil to FOTOFEST to Aperture at 50 a traveling exhibition. Keris photographs are in international and national collections including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Houston Museum of Art and the Minneapolis Art Institute.

Starting with an internship with the Village Voice Newspaper in 1983 Pickett has been a regular contributor to People Magazine with photographs in publications such as Life, Time, New York Times Magazine as well as International Publications such as German and Russian Geo, Stern and Zeit Magazines.

The Fabulous Ice Age is Keri Picketts first film and it has received assistance from The Minnesota State Arts Board.
