Kataki is Japanese for Revenge.
The story of a young Japanese girl with a dark family past.

The story begins after tragedy has occured. We find ourselves with Yumi, the young girl, knelt in front of her fathers meditation room. She is covered in blood and in so much pain that she is emotionless. A moment passes into a flashback showing what occured up to this point. A posse breaks into her family home kidnapping her mother, father, and herself. She and her mother are forced to watch the execution of her father. Yumi and her mother are blind folded and taken to a hidden place. Yumi into a cave with arms strapped across the cave. Facing the rear wall of the cave she has to endure the torture and murder of her mother from the shadows casted. She is then cut loose, dragged, and dumped at her home. Yumi crawls to the meditation room where she reflects the words of the writings on the walls. Love, Honor, and Family engage her into an emotionally high. A flash forward shows her in beautiful kimono with fathers Samurai swords in her waste belt. She walks into a dinner room where hundreds of the posse members reside. A moment of mental reflection and a cracked grin ends the story.

This film is a student short, about 10 minutes or less.
