On the run from killing a guy who really needed killing, Sam stopped at the Sunny Side Up Coffee Shop to say goodbye to Delilah. After wasting Mort and one of his buddies, who also “needed killing,” Sam and Delilah take all the cash from the diner and peel out in Sam’s 1966 Ford Thunderbird, headed down a south Texas highway toward the border.
As Sam and Delilah pull out, a Professor Gregory Verdino and his crew pull in. On a mission to gather road kill and animal carcasses for his bio-fuel experiment, Verdino sees the killings as an opportunity. His team gathers up what’s left of Mort and his buddy, cleans up the mess, and they get back on the road.
Patrons report the empty diner, but State Police are baffled. There is no sign of violence, or foul play. The Sunny Side Up is just abandoned. An investigation is opened, but there are no clues.
The two groups meet and have a confrontation at a roadside Motel. Before anyone gets killed, Verdino explains his project to Sam and Delilah, who are both amused and appalled. Verdino suggests that they team up, and they all head south.
After a daring midnight raid on a morgue produces another deservedly dead body, the group is caught in a high-speed chase with the two cops pursuing them. Verdino calls in the cavalry again, and a road block is created from a Winnebago. This takes out the Trooper’s car, and injures him. The cops continue in one car, and the Winnebago.
Verdino’s people help Sam and Delilah gas up the Toronado with “Killer Green,” the fuel they’ve been developing. Sam and Delilah light out in the Toronado, drawing the cops after them, and head for the border.
When it looks as if they might not escape, Delilah slams her foot down on the brake, bringing them to a screeching halt. Climbing out, Delilah shoots the tires of the cops car. She walks back and leans in the window. There are more shots, then she hurries back to Sam, who is afraid she shot the cops. Delilah lets Sam sweat a bit, but she shot the radio.
Free from all pursuit, Verdino and his crew head off in another direction with their bio fuel in hand and their process a success.
