Jimkata Fans Unite!
2011 has been a great year for all of us here with Jimkata. We've played more shows than ever, traveled to places we've never been, met some amazing and wonderful people and continued to follow our dream of writing and performing great music for you. The trouble is that despite all of our hard work and time on the road, we often come home without much more than our sleeping bags and good stories. Unfortunately, most sound engineers have heard all those stories already and what they really want is something called "payment for their services."
One thing that truly has kept us going, though, is your enduring and never-ending support. We've seen more and more people coming out to a show for the first time (or 50th time), belting out lyrics, offering us a place to stay, and even making artwork, pottery, food and musical instruments for us. All of that serves as fuel; gets us up in the morning, inspires to keep driving on those long trips in the van and ultimately reminds us of the large place in your life our music holds.
After performing 120 shows in 22 states crossing over 40,000 miles of the U.S.A. in 2011 we're spending the month of January with Jocko Randall at his quickly growing MoreSound315 Studios in Syracuse, NY (where he has recently produced great records with Rubblebucket, John Brown's Body and Thunder Body among many others) recording the follow up to 2010's Ghosts & Killers. The next record will feature a mix of road-tested and new never-before-heard material and is slated for an early September release date. But in order for anyone to hear it we need YOUR help!
