Jeanie Finlay is an award-winning British artist and film-maker who creates intimate, funny and personal documentary films and artworks. She creates compelling portraits of outsiders, pretenders and people who change how they look in order to be themselves.
Credits include feature documentary Goth Cruise for IFC (USA, 75 min) – most downloaded title ever on IFC, the critically acclaimed Teenland (BBC4 60 min) and the interactive project Home-Maker.
Named a Star of Tomorrow in Screen Internationals influential round up of industry talent to watch, Jeanie is a director of Broadway; Nottinghams flagship cinema and media centre and one of six regional advisors for Artists taking the lead, for the Cultural Olympiad.
Jeanie established Glimmer Films in 2008 to deliver and deliver ambitious, compelling and empathetic feature documentaries, for cinema and broadcast.
Currently in co-production on two new feature documentaries: The Great Hip Hop Hoax with Met Film for BBC Scotland and Orion: The man who would be King with Quark Films.
