Our Story
We're setting out to produce a unique New Zealand WW2 short story from the battle of Crete in 1941. How much are we looking for? $5,000 NZD. So that's only 50 people giving $100 each :)
We're a skilled bunch of Christchurch filmmakers who have been working together for a number of years on all sorts of projects. We have the aim to get Jack's War into international film festivals.
New Zealands war effort is a subject I'm personally vey passionate about and I feel there need to be more films made about this important part of our nations history.
Our particular story follows Jack, a kiwi farmboy who joint the war as a supply line truck driver and ends up right in the thick of the action. Wounded after an almost western style shootout, Jack's then captured but with help of the Cretan resistance he escapes.
This is a short, sharp, dramatic and exciting piece of cinema that I'm very excited to start shooting.
Check out my directors showreel by visiting the 'Gallery' section above.
I'll also be documenting the entire filmmaking process on my website here www.gorillapictures.co.nz.
