This Gist of "Internal Thoughts"
I'm Lisa Coffelt the writer and director of "Internal Thoughts" and I'm inviting you to take a journey with me. A journey through the mind & body. Depression and anxiety, sex, anger, psychosis, and sadness set in. This is the journey that our main character Molly will be going through in this film.
Most of my films come from dreams, or images that will pop up in my head before I go to sleep, but this script is personal. It's almost an autobiography of sorts, the script was based upon a particular point in my life that was terrifying and horrific. A point where I thought I was insane, and maybe I was but it was something that was so disturbing that I felt it needed to be shared. It's a very female centric story, although I'm sure a man could have a similar experience, however I feel that a woman will be able to deliver this role with such conviction, I could never have visualized it otherwise.
"Internal Thoughts" is our baby, and we've worked very hard in
pre-production to make things happen. Our shoot date is October 15th
and 16th. And we appreciate anything and everything we can get.
Crimson Stained Lace Productions has been going since 2007, and started out in Bowling Green, KY. We moved to LA in 2009 and have been going strong ever since. We've made 10+ short films, most of which have been horror, and almost every film has been to at least one film festival at some point. Most recently our film "Scorn" was accepted into Bleedfest, which will be playing on September 25th at EL CID in LA. "Scorn" cost zero dollars to make by the way.
Support Women in Horror
We have approximately 70% female cast and crew ratio on this particular film. So by supporting this film, you will be supporting females in the horror industry. We have high hopes for this film, since we got an excellent DP, Jessica Gallant ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002680/ ), a fantastic script, and awesome producers, as well as maybe a stunt person, who knows, we have a ton of exciting stuff everyday. Everyone we've teamed up with for this film is fantastic.
Why do we need money for this film?
We've done pretty much every film at max between $500 - $1000. We like to keep our budget tight, and apparently our wallets thin. It's only in the past year that we've decided to go the route of IndieGogo, when in the past we have run our credit cards dry to make a film. We now have all of the equipment we need, as we've been acquiring equipment for the past few films, so our equipment list is pretty much good. So.....
If for some reason we exceed our desired budget of $500, we will donate 50% of all funds beyond that amount to Project Get Safe, which is the non-profit that our Horror Cookbook is going to. The find out more about the "Have A Heart for Horror Cookbook" go to http://crimsonstainedlace.wordpress.com/have-a-...
$100 for Food
All of our cast and crew are working for free, but we need to feed them otherwise they may go hungry and get a little cranky. But we also know how get good stuff at cheap prices, so $100 is going to go a long way with our team of 13+ people.
$100 - $150 for Makeup Effects
We have a fantastic makeup artist, Lauren Ishii.( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2713679/ ) We need tons of latex, blood and guts. Along with a few other surprises.
$50 - $100 Props & More
Props and furniture. We need a desk, fabric, clear shower curtains, desk lamp, desk calendar, prop straight razor, , paint and more..... We're well on our way right now, but the more help the better.
$50 - $75 Costumes & Clothes
We have some elaborate costume ideas, but without the help we won't be able to get as elaborate as we'd like to.. One of the things we are looking into are One-of-a-kind headpieces, designed by Ashli at Sassy Apples. Look at the perks to see how you can get your hands on one of these headpieces we'll use with a ton of other cool stuff. To find out about Sassy Apples go to https://www.facebook.com/SassyApples
$75 Location (Optional)
So we will getting a room for a day for a bathroom scene to increase maximum efficiency and better lighting. This is the very last thing we are looking to fund, because we already have a good location, but if we can afford a better one, hey why not.
Please be courteous and donate an extra $5 if you live outside the US and are wanting a physical product perk, which is all of them except for perk 1.
