THE JOURNEY

Plastic is this fantastic invention that is so ubiquitous, it seems unfathomable to live without it! But how did we get to this point? and where are we headed? 

In the independent documentary film "Plastic Paradise," TV host and filmmaker Angela Sun travels on a personal journey of discovery to uncover the mystery of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in one of the most remote places on earthMidway Atoll. As a surfer, scuba diver and lifelong ocean enthusiast, Angela is determined to understand not only how this plastic trash is ending up in one of the most remote places on earth, but what can be done about this massive problem. Along the way she meets scientists, researchers, influencers, and volunteers who shed light on the effects of our rabid plastic consumption and Angela learns that the situation is  much worse than we think. 

What is the stuff we "throw away" doing to our world, and what is it doing to us? There are no easy answers, but Angela's journey is one that everyone living in a disposable society needs to see.

THE IMPACT

 

We would like this Independent Documentary to empower and motivate others to be more aware of the plastic around us.  Every one of us can make a difference and be part of the solution to the problem of plastic pollution. You don't have to be a scientist, legislator, or activist -- everyone has the power to spread awareness and help create change. 

 

WHAT WE NEED & WHAT YOU GET

 

We are trying to present the most balanced, journalistically-sound approach in covering this topic. Plastic Paradise has been an amazing journey, there is still a lot of work to be done.

 

We need more than $20000 to finish the film; and even though this is not the full budget amount, it will keep the ball in motion.

We are looking into other funding sources and reaching out to donors, but we want to engage the online community of supporters in the creation of this documentary because we want this to be a shared experience. YOU can make a difference, and every little bit counts.

 

There are a few more shoots to interview experts where travel expenses and camera equipment rental would be involved.

We need funds towards the music and footage clearances as well as Post Production costs such as a graphics package.
