From Argentina to Angola
Mussende is
a small rural village in Angola. There are 30 families and their main economic
activity is agriculture. They don't get basic services such as electricity, gas, potable water
and rubbish recollection.
Griselda,
Martn, Federico, Mara Celeste, Jesica and Eunice are students at the Universidad del Litoral in Argentina. For the last two years theyve been developing a
project on alternative energy in their local community. Next January they are invited by Red
Solidaria para Angola to share with Mussendes families their knowledge and build with
them solar collectors, solar cookers and an organic digester, to find the energy they need for their everyday life.
Indaba Network, together with
your contribution, will help them buying two of the five tickets they need to get there.
The project
With your contribution we will help:
- To raise awareness within the community about alternative energies, to bring them conceptual tools for building solar water heaters and cookers, and organic digesters. To train them in the exploitation of the fertilizer and the metane gas, produced by the organic digestor.
- To raise awareness of problems and potential dangerous for health that brings the irresponsible disposition of rubbish.
- To build solar water heaters, solar stoves and an organic digester. To bring into operation all the equipment.
- To train the families involved to share their knowledge with the rest of the community.
