Project Description

Incredible Girl is a sexy short film exploring female empowerment with same sex themes. It's a coming of age story placed in a sexual playground.

Our Story

This project started with a blog post:

...as I was dancing ( in the club), I saw this female approach me in the most diva way one can imagine...She entered my space bubble with authority and stood right in front of me. I stopped my dancing, matched her stance and made eye contact with her. I wasn't sure what was about to happen. In the next minute or so the world disappeared as she reached out and fingered the bottom of my shirt with her chipped red nails. She slowly started to work her fingers up underneath my shirt. I stood there unable to say anything because I was caught off guard by the sheer nerve she had. She crept up my solar plexus until she reached the bottom of my bra. She paused and stared at me hard and unflinching in the eye. With a quick step back I detached myself from her wandering fingers... I kept her eye locked for a second and then she stepped forward in a small gesture of respect (like after a sumo pair finish their wrestle), whispered in my ear "you're gorgeous", and walked away with as much flair as she approached me with. This is one of the most mind blowing people I have ever encountered in my life. The nerve she had was Incredible!

My good friend, Miguel Amodio, left a comment on it: "This is awesome! You should turn it into a movie". Then we talked.

Mission Statement

And several years later, here we are with "Incredible Girl": in homage to those people who have the power to inspire and revolutionize our lives because of sheer bad-ass-ness (i.e. confidence). My goal is to offer inspiration for others to revolutionize their lives, like she did for me. What bonds us as a team is that it's important for each of us to be connected to work that excites us and has the power to change lives positively.

What We Have

We already have gotten past one of our biggest hurdles which is finding the right location to shoot in: "The Saint", a beautiful bar in Hollywood has agreed to let us shoot there (which will happen in the first quarter of 2011). I have a talented team around me and will be adding a few key team members as we get closer to production.

What We Need

The next big thing we need is funding. Our costs include:

*Artist fees

Everyone on this project (including crew/ musicians) is contributing because they want to see it

come to life for free or or a discounted rate. Total = $2000


*Props/ Costumes/ Make-up

Luckily, these needs are minimal. I already own much of this stuff and Ive been reconstructing

some clothing items I found at thrift stores on my sewing machine. Total = $200


*Food for the Shoot Day

Ill have 40 people in and out all day, including: crew, cast, extras. I need to keep their energy
up with lunch and snacks, as it will be a long day. Total = $600


*Equipment Rental

Im getting an awesome rental discount for a lighting package. Well also be renting two lenses
for the camera and a generator so there is no possible way we can blow out the power at the
bar (old building). Total = $1200


*Insurance costs

The Hollywood bar the Saint that has agreed to let us shoot for free as long as we have liability
insurance. I feel so thankful for their generosity. Total = $600


*Festival Submission/ Distribution

Well be sending the project to a list of 15 festivals which all have submission fees as well as
DVDs to many of you investors. Total = $900


*IndieGoGo Fee

They charge us 4-9% to use their service.


*Fiscal Sponsorship Fee

We have been accepted into the Filmmakers Alliance Fiscal Sponsorship program which means all
money you contribute is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. You will get a letter as a receipt for your records that has the 501(c)3 number on it. They charge us 5% for this service.

If we don't reach our goal here, I'll find other ways to raise the money. The film will get made one way or another. The only reason we won't reach our goal is if I give up (which won't happen).  One negative consequence if we don't reach our goal here is that IndieGoGo will charge us a higher percentage of what we raise than if we do raise our goal.
