IN THE SEA YOU'LL FIND ME

A film about one of the largest memorial Paddle-Outs documented in honor of a surfer.

ABOUT THE FILM

In the Sea You'll Find Me is a real-life story about a Paddle-Out for an extraordinary young surfer named Walter Caloca who had two great passions in life: surfing and the protection of the ocean.

The film documents the Paddle-Out through the planning stages and builds-up to an action-packed sequence shot using the latest cutting edge technology and multiple cameras. Against this we intercut intimate and moving interviews with friends and family who paint a picture of this talented young man, whose charisma and undying love for the ocean inspired the town of Ensenada, Mexico to come together and organize one of the largest memorial Paddle-Outs in the world.

ABOUT THE PADDLE-OUT

The Paddle-Out is an ancient Polynesian ritual performed to send off surfers to the eternal rest between the waves. The ceremony is surfers  equivalent of a funeral.

This inspiring heartwarming documentary illustrates the sacredness of Paddle-Outs, which have provided healing and closure to surfers and non-surfers alike, as witnessed recently with the losses of Andy Irons

and Sion Milosky.

In the Sea You'll Find Me is a lyrical reminder of the healing power of surfing. We can always connect with our friends in nature - in the sea, in every wave, in every barrel.
