A short comedy film


LOGLINE:

When a star comedian is snubbed at his favorite ice cream parlor, it unleashes a food fight of global proportions..



SHORT SYNOPSIS:

When Comedy Central star and international comedian Tom Rhodes requests an extra scoop of ice cream, he is denied by the stores middle-eastern clerks. Toms repeated attempts to get what he wants through charm, good looks and good humor are met with indifference by the clerks and a frozen standoff ensues. Diplomacy gives way to more extreme measures as each side digs in and a battle escalates to epic proportions as Tom stops at nothing to get what his tastebuds so desperately desire.

 Tom Rhodes is one of those rare exotic creatures who has dedicated his life to stand-up comedy. He is one of the most sought after comedians working the world wide circuits today and his stunning long list of credits include: His own sitcom on NBC called Mr. Rhodes. The critically acclaimed Comedy Central special Viva Vietnam. Two Comedy Central presents half hour specials and in September of 2011 he will film his first hour length stand up special for the Showtime network. Tom has performed on seven continents in his 25 years as a comedian and he has been a fixture at comedy festivals the world over including: HBO Aspen Arts Festival, the Vancouver Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival in Australia, the Altitude Comedy Festival in Meribel, France, the Galway Comedy Festival in Ireland, the Wild West Comedy Festival in Perth, Australia and three times at the Montreal International Comedy festival, Just for Laughs.


The Impact



Ice Cream Jihad is a comedic social commentary that pokes fun at the delicious flavors inside all of us. We aim to submit the film to several major national and international film festivals. We strive to create a dialogue through our film in various community based events locally and other cities around the nation. In doing this, we hope the film will begin to break down the physical barriers and stereotypes existing between people of all shapes and sizes of different cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds. The goal of the film is to get people laughing, thinking and celebrating our delicious differences.



Crowdfunding



With no formal funding, the production, eventual post-production, and marketing of this film will be accomplished with capital from our dedicated crew and from your generous donations. To achieve our goal we need to raise $5,000 online by December 31st, 2011 while raising another $5,000 offline. The funds will go toward equipment rentals, securing locations, transportation, permits, food for our cast & crew, a great sound mix and a fantastic edit of the film.
