An updated photonegative adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Othello,” IAGO is the story of a caucasian Othello leading an otherwise ethnic gang of at-risk youth in urban Boston. As Othello’s friend Iago warps his leader’s perceptions and shakes his confidence, and amidst tense racial relations, Othello’s growing jealousy alienates everyone close to him—to devastating consequences.
Written, produced and directed by current Emerson College students living in Boston, IAGO will be the second feature film from A2A Productions. It will be presented in RED One Digital Cinema. Production is slated to begin in early July 2009.
