Our Story
My name is Chuck Johnson. Im a former martial artist champion from the states, professional celebrity bodyguard in Tokyo, a martial arts instructor of 18 years and a martial arts writer for 5 years now.
I truly and deeply love martial arts myself, and while many of the people around me may not share that passion, I do see a need for it. A few years back, one of my best friends got into a situation with 2 guys in Korea and he had his back broken. Another friend of mine from wales lost a friend because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and another person I'm close to was sexually assaulted years ago and still lives in fear because of it.
What I would like to do is produce a web show that speaks to the average person about real self-defense, and that does so in such an entertaining way that they enjoy it, and learn from it- even if they don't like fighting, martial arts, or fight sports. Each episode will be no longer than 5 minutes, and each will focus on a single situation, utilizing a technique that is simple enough for the average person to understand with no previous martial arts training. Additionally, in-between shows I will also be contributing video blogs that concentrate on how to think about conflict, martial arts, training and self-defense.
The Impact
At this point, I have produced the first three episodes myself and they are already up on Youtube as "How to Defeat Dudes". What I need is $2500 to produce the next twelve.
The 6 video blogs that complement the show I can do on my own with my own resources, but in order to keep good production quality for the show, I need to pay my team for assistance with lighting, sound, direction, editing location, and marketing to get it out there. 100% of the money contributed will be going into these 6 areas. I will not touch a dime of it.
What You Get
Aside from my resounding personal gratitude, a contribution would mean you get the satisfaction that you are helping to make the world a bit safer for your family, your friends and the average person without their having to pay for it. Furthermore, for your contribution to the show, I will also offer a variety of perks ranging from having your name listed in the credits or special mention in a show to a special Thank You DVD containing the whole series.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you don't feel ready to contribute yourself, then no sweat! You can still help out simply by sharing this link with others and letting people know what Im trying to do.
