Holiday of The Dead is an exciting twist on the traditional zombie horror film. An experimental bio-weapon has accidentally been released while undergoing secret testing in Afghanistan. Military contractor and former Green Beret Gryphon Mosely is the only person alive who knows the secret of this deadly virus, a secret so dark the US government will stop at nothing to keep it contained. As Gryphon works to locate the potential epicenter of the inevitable outbreak, five young friends are thrust into the disaster and must fight Martial Law and the zombie hordes to escape.
The film captures the spirit of both classic zombie films and more modern interpretations of the genre.
Holiday is an independent feature-length film to be funded only by the director and donations-no producers or production companies will provide any monetary support. The film we be shot largely over the course of two weekends beginning July 2010, and is expected to be completed early 2011. Utilizing a core cast of ten characters and nearly a hundred zombie extras, the film will be shot primarily on DV with Canon XL2s, and interspersed with various low-fi formats like cellphone cameras and hand-held consumer equipment for a “reality TV” feel.
