UPDATE!!The outpouring of support from our fans, family, and friends has been overwhelming!! We have been moved close to tears by your generosity. As a result, we're almost there with over a month left to raise the dough! We've decided that any money we raise beyond $2,600 will go towards the production costs of the two web series we're developing this summer: Choose Your Adventure and Bad Manor.
Choose Your Adventure is a thrilling journey through time and space undertaken by two siblings, Judy and Clay, when they befriend their friendly neighborhood mad scientist and run afoul of his sister, a much more insane scientist, and her crew of mutated minions. Bad Manor is our nighttime soap opera that takes place in the Smoke Rise Manor, a bed and breakfast full of life, love, and lies. We'll finally be able to film that hot tub sex scene we always wanted! The first film shoot for the pilot of Bad Manor is happening next week, and in the meantime we're building a time machine and a ShrimpCricket for Choose Your Adventure. Our StoryTwinhead Theatre has been providing affordable thrills to our Atlanta community since 2003. As a collaborative theater company, we all write, build, produce and perform our unique multimedia productions. We've created 30 live shows and one awesome movie, as well as several film shorts that continue to shock, awe, and traumatize our audience. Since we all have an equal stake in the company's success or failure, everyone puts in, and Twinhead loves to put out.
Earlier this year we decided to put our focus on creating a web series for our YouTube channel, so we can start reaching new audiences AND provide free programming! We started developing our 2009 production Choose Your Adventure: the Play into a web series with endless possibilities. We even signed up to screen it at a week-long festival in Atlanta in July. But then, our PowerMac G5 computer completely died. One day, it was just...gone. So, after burying it in the backyard, we turned to IndieGoGo and awesome people like you to raise enough money to buy a new computer, a nice computer...the kind of the computer we could take home to Mom.
The Impact
Unfortunately, there's not much we as a company can do without a working computer. We need one not only to edit video, but also for keeping track of our business records: budgets, donor receipts, accounting, narratives like this where we ask someone for money...
What We Need & What You Get
We need $2600 for a new iMac computer. If we do not meet our Indie GoGo deadline, then we would try to make up the difference by holding a fundraising event. We're good at these kinds of events, and everyone knows we love a party, but fundraisers cost money and take time. We would be hard-put to raise the money for the event as well as the computer, and we would be seriously crunched for time to edit the series in time for our festival deadline.
Aside from helping us reach our goal and getting that warm, tingling feeling inside, Twinhead Theatre has a list of incentives that are sure to curl your little toes longingly. For example, a gift of $10 will earn you one ridiculous shout-out from Twinhead Theatre on Facebook or Twitter. You give a gift and we'll make sure your friends think you have the biggest, thickest....heart....this side of the Silicone Valley.
Other Ways You Can Help
We know that times are tough and not everyone can give as much as they would like to, but there's another way to help us out: spread the word! You can share our Indie GoGo page with friends, coworkers, rich uncles, wealthy nursing home residents with no living relatives, foreign dignitaries, and even high-end prostitutes with hearts of gold.
