A little background - My name is Wendy Gambone. I am married to Tony Gambone, we have a 5 children between us and have been together for 21 years. Tony was diagnosed 37 years ago with Crohns disease, at the time there wasn't much known about Crohn's. He has since had 3 surgeries and has a colostomy. We have been blessed as he hasn't had any issues until 3 years ago. August of 08 the world that I knew ceased to exist. Since then we have been in and out of the hospital on many occasions and because he was never insurable due to his disease we have been going through the County Hospital district, which is a whole other discussion and nightmare. We have lost our business and Tony is now on disability, which we are thankful for but doesn't even cover our mortgage. All of this is OK if we can get Tony the treatment that he needs. I can get another house but I can't get another Tony, he and my children are my life.There are many new developments in the adult stem cell treatment and Tony is a great candidate. It is not offered in the US so we have to travel out of the country for it.

The Impact

Not only do I want to be able to raise money for Tony to have this procedure done, I also want to try to raise awareness of what is possible for so many others with many other conditions. This treatment is one of the last options for Tony. He has already had so much of his insides removed the doctors are very hesitant to remove any more. He is very high risk for surgery and that is the only thing that could possibly help him for a short time, so we thought. Until we found out about the stem cell treatments we thought we had to just a sit around and wait for things to get really bad and hope for the best. Things are okay, his quality of life is okay for now, other than changing out bandages twice a day from his intestinal fluids leaking out of his stomach in four places and being tired a lot more that he use to be he is good and mostly in good spirits. Tony is very active in giving to others and promoting others on his internet radio show, he has so much more to offer this world but may not get the chance without these treatments. God has led us on this path and we're not sure where it is going to take us but we are living it one day at a time and trusting Him.
