Our Story
Hi, my name is Briga and I am a violinist based in Montreal, Canada.
After spending last fall in the Balkans playing Gypsy (Romani) weddings and swapping music with musicians, I brought back home some tunes to share with my band. We worked really hard to put together 9 songs that'll be recorded on the next album and we will be recording it live in a Montreal studio at the end of this summer. We need help to cover recording costs (studio, mixing, & mastering) and album cover/printing costs (design + printing 1000 CDs).
The Impact
Although we are good at making music and playing it for you, we need help to fund studio costs and people's time needed to get that precious music onto tape (CD, Vinyl, Digital etc.) and back to you. This project is entirely self-funded and if funds aren't raised, the costs will be too high for us to go through with this project.
What We Need & What You Get
What We Need:
We need $1000 to rent Bob's studio for 4 days, $1000 to pay our producer, Jay Atwill, for his presence at rehearsals taking care of band arrangements on top of mixing the album, $700 for our sound technician extra-ordinare Lora Sokolova, who'se expecting her first baby in 3 months, $800 to Master the album, leaving us with $1000 for CD artwork/design & printing of 1000 Units.
What You Get:
We've got a variety of prizes, fun surprises, and services to offer you! It all depends on what you bid. On top of that, we will acknowledge your support in the liner notes & you walk away knowing that you have contributed to promoting Music, Culture & the Arts in one of Canada's rare French speaking provinces: Qubec!
Other Ways You Can Help
A shout out to all our musician, DJ, producer & music lover friends out there! Once the album is recorded, we'll be more than happy to put some tracks out there for remixes. Remixes rock!
