Gospel Great Helen Baylor shared part of her compelling life story in the introduction of her hit song, Lifting Up The Name of Jesus, also known as Helens Testimony, on The Live Experience album released in 1994. Since then, the song has stayed in rotation and has continually been requested by fans on radio stations throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Ms. Baylor was a 12 yr old R&B singing sensation and at age 17 became an original cast member of HAIR West Coast when it premiered in 1968. In the 1970s, she sang back up for Chaka Khan and Captain and Tennille and headlined the group Side Effect. She was a rising star with a soulful voice like no other singer.

Despite her early success, she was battling the reality of being sexually abused at age 6, becoming a teen mother, struggling with an addiction to cocaine and other drugs and looking for love in all the wrong places. If it were not for her Grandmother Hudsons Prayers, Helen believes she would not be here today! She had A PRAYING GRANDMOTHER!

By the mid 1980s, Ms. Baylor had given her life to the Lord and later became a chart-topping Gospel Artist, winning 4 Dove Awards, 2 Stellar Awards and the Soul Train Lady of Soul Award.

The Making of A Film

Ms. Baylor saw Cassandra Hollis on a local television talk show discussing her films two years ago. Helen knew right away that Cassandra was the person to bring her life story to the screen and contacted her. 

During Pre-Development, Cassandra adapted Ms. Baylors autobiography, No Greater Love: The Helen Baylor Story into a gripping screenplay. The song, "Helen's Testimony," and the book have been impacting lives around the world with people being healed of the pain of abuse and being delivered from drugs.

We believe the film will reach even more people and thus have a more profound impact on lives!
