The Cause

Have you ever found yourself out of your element? Unsure of yourself? Have you ever been offered a great opportunity, only to find it wasn't what you expected?

Heartland to Hollywood is the story of Sarah, a shy girl with a big voice. Newly transplanted in LA from the Midwest, she falls prey to the false promises of an agent with a wicked and morally corrupt agenda but she ultimately finds her way back home through the strength of her faith.

Despite the vast quantities of film & television being created today, there's a distinct shortage of wholesome, family-oriented, faith-based media. Director Brian Bartelt, screenwriter Marta Costello, and producer Jerome Wilhort look to change that. That's why we're creating Heartland to Hollywood; we want to not only create a great movie that millions of people will love to watch, we want to help prove that quality, wholesome content can play a vital and vibrant part in mainstream entertainment today.

When our funding campaign is successful, we are ready to begin production immediately -- we're all set to start filming in late March, and the film will be released in November 2012. All we need is some initial financial support to get the ball rolling.

The Impact

Heartland to Hollywood is a film project born out of a desire to bring something positive and uplifting to the entertainment landscape. The team behind it is truly passionate about telling this story but the reality is movie-making costs money. And we need your help. Without financial support, the hours and hours of effort invested so far will be for naught. Millions upon millions of dollars are poured into the Hollywood studio film system every year so they can churn out films with corrupt and immoral messages. But without resources, this project will stall and the script for Heartland to Hollywood will sit, collecting dust. It’s time to vote with your dollars and help us create a movie with an edifying message!

Grips, gaffers, and production assistants - oh my! There’s a reason going behind-the-scenes can be so interesting. It truly takes a small village to make a movie. And the people behind this project know how to stretch a dollar - we’ll be calling in favors and innovating creative workarounds. We’ll use your financial support to pay the cast and crew for their tireless efforts and long hours. Your contributions will also go towards creating DVDs, sound recording, costumes & props, securing locations and such.
