Dan Thomas a small man with a huge voice is the preacher at an all black Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. He is killed after trying to rid the neighborhood of a tormenting gang. Dan dies in the hospital, but not before he passes his heart to Tom Fuller, a flamboyant white televangelist, who spiritually has lost it all, although this hasnt kept him from performing. Tom desperately needs a new heart both literally and spiritually.
Dans spirit lives on in Toms rediscovery of faith and newfound motivation. Tom takes over the all black church, whose members are suspicious of his intentions. Tom proves his worth through his passion for Christ and sense of humor. His faith shows that a love of God transcends race, culture and socioeconomic status.
This is the tale of redemption, humanity, and spirit.
