Having a Drink

A Werewolf Tale

Our Story

Hi, I'm Randy Smith, the Director of Having a Drink, a short film involving a couple of werewolves, a bar heist gone wrong and some scenes that will bring something new to the genre. Our film is based on a short story called Oges by John Graham, which received an honorable mention in the Year's Best Fantasy & Horror anthology published by St. Martin's Press. We'll be working with professionals both in front of and behind the cameras.

We've got a passion for telling stories through filmmaking and make a lot of short-short films. Having a Drink is a much bigger undertaking and will be approximately 2025 minutes. Our last "big" short film (Fear of the Living Dead) has recently secured distribution on a compilation DVD with Left Films.

What We Need and  What You Get

We are looking to secure $5,500. The money will go to pay for location rentals, equipment rentals, wardrobe, props, make-up and effects products, craft services, DVD production, and ideally to pay members of the cast and crew. Right now, everyone is passionate about the project and is volunteering their time, even though they are professionals. It may not be much but I would like to reward people for their hard work and creativity. If we do not reach our funding goal, this project will still happen through my own funds.

But what do you get for helping us out? We've set out a variety of perks for our supporters, from credit in the film and on the website, to copies of the DVD or and/or t-shirts, to getting your logo in our movie, and even producer credits!
