A day in the life at a small Florida retirement trailer park in a sleepy little town is anything but boring in this comedic look at life after 55 in the Sunshine State.

When a young Midwestern couple, Chad and Charisse make their way to the new winter home that Chad has just inherited from a distant great uncle, the two are dismayed to see that it’s nothing more than a dilapidated old trailer in the middle of the Happy Acres Trailer Park. Even more disturbing, the couple learns that the residential bylaws prohibit them from actually living there until they are 55.

When Charisse reveals that she is pregnant and no longer believes that Chad can provide for her and the baby, the older and wiser residents do their best to help the couple through their trying time.

But they have their own fair share of troubles to deal with.

How can Curt and Gladys possibly convince Chad and Charisse that getting married is the best thing to do while they are being held hostage by that young Mexican boy, Julio or Jose or whatever his name is (Mario)?

And the park landlords are past retirement age, but not nearly close to being able to retire on their meager incomes. People in the state penitentiaries have it easier it seems – which gives them a great idea…

Meanwhile, the park trouble-maker Rayleen has left treatment after being Baker-Acted and returns home to find that no one can be trusted – especially the police!

Liquor store robberies, armed hostage situations, a court summons, a bank heist and pretty major disturbance of the peace keep the local law-enforcement officers busy and slightly bewildered in this often silly, occasionally poignant, and just plain enjoyable ensemble film.
