Our Story
Halo: The Fallen. A non-profit fan film based off of the popular video game franchise 'Halo'.
Our story is set during the early events of the first game. Dozens of Marines have been scattered across the valley on the mysterious ring known as 'Halo'. We follow a group of Marines as they fight off Covenant forces searching for survivors.
Our goals are simple. Make a Halo fan film with high production values with the lowest possible budget. This means great costumes, great props, great visual fx, great cinematography, great acting and a great story.
We've set a standard for ourselves with our recent visual fx teaser. With 3 costume designers, 4 post production
artists and the help of a few friends as crew, we were able to complete this 1 continuous, 22 second shot with a
budget of $0.
We currently have an incredible group of talent on board this film. Our visual fx artists range from Student, to Freelance to Industry artists. They've dedicated themselves to giving you the best they have to offer.
The Impact
After Hollywood decided to pass on the Halo project, it was only a matter of time before the fans took matters into their own hands. We're here to pick up where Hollywood left off.
What We Need & What You Get
Our short film is estimated to be around 15-18 minutes long. Over half of these shots are expected to be or contain complicated visual fx shots such as that seen in our teaser.
Unfortunately, with the type of visual fx and production standards we'd like to achieve, we are unable to fund this film by ourselves. Which is why we are reaching out to you.
We've budgeted our film down to a cost of $5,000. That $5,000 will be split up between:
Costume design and props
Studio Time and Locations
Rentals of certain production Equipment
and Catering for the cast and crew
We are also offering many perks for our Donators. Some of those perks range from DVD copies with behind the scenes content to props which will be used in the actual film. Check out what perks we have to offer!
Your contributions would be greatly appreciated by not only the team behind Halo: The Fallen, but also the entire Halo community.
*NOTE* All props from the film will be sent out AFTER filming has wrapped. Our contributors will be contacted to provide shipping information when the time comes.
Filming is set to begin March 2012 with an estimated release date of the end of that year. Unfortunately we can't give an exact date at the moment due to many factors. But please follow us on Facebook for all of the latest updates!
