UPDATE:

We've been incredibly lucky with our progress so far. Numerous contributions have brought us closer and closer to our goal of bringing the film to life and thanks to help from organizations and schools, we've managed to gather together most of our equipment for the actual filming process.

We are stiil in need of editing gear, extra lighting equipment and help for the post-production. Details on the post-work can be found on our WRECK-A-MOVIE WEBSITE.

Dearest Reader, Our Once and Future Friend,

The Music of Erich Zann is a project to bring the cult author, H.P. Lovecraft's, stunning visions on to the screen. A master of horror, Lovecraft wrote for years about the Cthulhu mythology, a horrifying vision of the world where humans lived in ignorance of colossal beasts, The Elder Gods, who lurked beyond the veil of normality.

The story follows young Victor Strahovsky, a shy musician with a crippling case of stage fright. Victor moves to an old apartment building in hopes of practicing for his coming concert in private. During the night, he begins to hear a haunting tune echoing from upstairs. On the highest floor lives Erich Zann, a mute former violin maestro, who lost his place in the spotlight years ago - and now has turned to forces not of this world to regain his former glory.

Who We Are:

We are a group of students, semi-pros and even real pro's all united by our love for good horror stories and our mutual dismay of what we perceive as the lack of Lovecraft at the moment. Our goal is to use this short film as our calling card into the film industry in Scandinavia and Europe, hopefully as a stepping stone into making a living in the future with this.

This Is An Inspirational Project

Not just for ourselves, we know we'll have plenty of fun amidst the tears and frustration that making a film brings with it. But we are also going to document it the best we can. Taking a cue from Peter Jackson and his quintessential production diaries that he prepared for the King Kong shoot, we will be filming, documenting, photographing and sketching our way through the months of development, filming and eventual release just to show not only where the money goes - but also how we work on our limited time and budget.

Our videos will be put up both here on IndieGoGo as well as our official Tumblr blog here:

http://musicoferichzann.tumblr.com/

It's a chance to at the same time acquaint new people to the world of Lovecraft and even other areas of making a film that aren't as present normally. We LOVE what we do and hopefully by the end of this, you may as well.

And here's where you come in!

YOU are our secret weapon!

Because this project came to be because of our community, us, we want it to be yours as well. What does this mean? Well, we want to work with people all over the world, but because we're not a major studio that can fly around on jumbo jets made of gold, we're going to use the internet for our purposes.

We are looking to make this an international work of art in the truest sense of the world, so that when it's finished and we begin submitting it to film festivals we can honestly say that we have at least one person in each city, state or country where the film is playing.

We don't just want your donation (but don't get us wrong, we love you for donating!), we want you to feel that you're an actual part of the process as well.

Making a film, even a short one, is a personal, consuming and ultimately immensely rewarding effort.

In the end, we want to share that feeling with you.

How will this become a reality?

What would that money be used for? Equipment, mostly. Building sets. Lights. Food for the crew working without a single payday. Renting an editing space - or better yet, buying editing equipment! Even server space so that we can co-ordinate and send and receive material from people all over the world who are working with us.

We've outlined a great deal of stuff on the perks that we're offering with this. As with the rest of the project, we wanted to make them feel personal - and that's what you're going to get.

But we realize that money can be and is tight! That's why there always are -

Other Ways You Can Help!

Feel that you have solid material that can help us? Old clothes or wardrobe that you're about to throw away? Lights that haven't been used for years? Talent that you feel could help us?

A twitter account? A Facebook account?

Share the project! Send emails to friends, gab about it at the water cooler, tweet, Facebook it, Digg it, talk about it on your Youtube show anything and everything helps!
