Our Story

My name is Karan Ashley from KASH Pictures and I am an actress/producer/ writer.  I co-created an amazing TV Sitcom, Grown Ups and we are raising money for our "Sizzle Reel." A Sizzle Reel is a tool used to pitch and broker a deal with networks. It is like a movie trailor.  It gives possible investors a true look at what this show is all about and you could assist us in making this sitcom find a home on TV.  It all starts here!!

What is Grown Ups?

Grown Ups

Logline:  Who Says You Ever Grow Up?

Genre: Sitcom (multi-camera)

Format: hour

Grown Ups, is a half hour sitcom that centers around an unlikely partnership when Justin, Stacey and Angeline lose their dead end jobs and realize that something has got to change. They need to embrace the fearless spirit they once shared as friends in college. Justin has always dreamt of opening up a night club/ dinner lounge. He knows with his vision, Staceys experience as a publicist and Angelines experience as a chef that collectively the three of them have what it takes to actually pull this together. The only thing missing is someone to bank role this adventure, introducing Uncle Billy.

Uncle Billy is old school and not the usual suspect you would peg as a wealthy man.  In fact, he is grumpy, dated and a fashionably challenged person who didnt get the memo that his Members Only jacket had long ago went out of style. Uncle Billy is a bully and what you call socially challenged. He can often be physically aggressive, but what do you expect from a guy who still believes in spanking kids. Through all the crazy talk actually lies a hardnosed businessman who is not initially impressed with this team of hopefuls.

There are early signs that a partnership with Uncle Billy is not going to be easy and maybe the most terrifying adventure they have ever experienced, but together they pull it off and Club JAS is born. Club JAS isnt exactly what they had hoped for when they are promised a club in the heart of Hollywood. Uncle Billy in reality hands them a rat infested dump in Hollywood (adjacent). But with a 3-bedroom apartment included, no other offers on the table and a solid opportunity at hand, they learn fast that they must start from the ground up.

If Justin is the show man, Stacey is the business and Angeline is the passion, then Uncle Billy is the mad scientist who stirs it all together and makes these hopefuls exceed even their expectations. He intimidates them and dares them to believe in themselves more than they ever thought they were capable of. While opening Club JAS may be their goal, Uncle Billys goal is to teach them the art of business no matter what it takes. Its his extreme, un-sugar coated and politically incorrect way of doing things that entertains all who watch his genius unfold.  Its Uncle Billys matter-of-fact, raw and razor-sharp attitude that brings the laughs to this edgy comedy.

They soon realize that running Club JAS and being roommates is a challenge. The saying, threes a crowd is an understatement when it comes to all of their idiosyncrasies. When you combine Staceys OCD issues, Angelines superstitious beliefs, Justins messy laid back attitude and Uncle Billy dropping in whenever he likes using his spare key, you have a ticking bomb ready to explode.  If it wasnt for Club JAS keeping them united, they would lose their sanity.

Grown Ups demonstrates the gang growing up in many capacities of their life. They grow in confidence, in their profession, in love but most of all they grow in friendship. The show also offers plenty of room for cameos from todays popular celebrities, using Club JAS as a venue to promote their latest release, movie or just the hot spot to party.
