Synopsis

The movie is a suspense/thriller focused on a drug trade in suburbia that goes south, a murder, and all that yummy anxiety and suspense that goes along with trying to cover up your tracks. Friends betray each other, personalities change, and an entire slew of thought provoking moments make this film more than just a thriller.

Our Story

Carman Spoto began writing his first feature film, Going Under, in March of 2010. He was a 17 year old with a camera and a goal; to shoot a feature film before he turned 18. And that's what he did. He gathered his crew of three friends, none of which have professional experience, and they did something magical. They made a feature film for less than thirty dollars.

The Impact

Going Under is an extremely important landmark for young and independent filmmakers alike. As stated previously, this film was made by 17-year-olds for less than thirty dollars. If we could do it, than anyone else could. Don't let big budgets and fancy equipment scare you. Embrace what you have, accept your strengths and weaknesses, and go out and make a film.

What We Need

As said, this film was shot for extremely cheap, for a few reasons. However, the main reason is because I don't HAVE that much money, and had to make do with what I had. I have a job, but I also have bills, and rent, and groceries, and books for film school.

So, although production was cheap, post-post production will not be as cheap. We currently need money for two main things; Marketing and Film festivals.

To get the word out about the film, we need to market with posters, stickers, fliers, etc. No one will know to watch the film, if they haven't heard of it yet.

The main expense is film festival registration fees. It costs money to get my film exposed and shown around the country. Some festivals are free, and some cost a few hundred dollars. It all depends on the festival, and how important it is to our film for exposure.

What You Get

So what do you guys get in return? Well right now there are 4 perks that explain each level of donation, but I will explain each reward.

A "movie ticket," is exactly what it says it is. It is a digital chance to view one of the three internet showings scheduled to take place in December and January. If you buy a ticket, you are able to watch all four of showings.

The DVD is pretty much what it says as well. A copy of the DVD once the film is released. The DVD will come with a signed picture of the cast and crew. The DVD will either be self-distributed, or possibly picked up by a small distributor. Either way, you are covered once it is released. The DVD will include the full feature, and plenty of behind-the-scenes goodies.

Next up is a signed 12x18in movie poster. High-Quality photo paper, signed by the entire cast and crew. Poster currently in development.

Other Ways You Can Help

So you can't make any of the perks, alright, there is plenty you can do. First of all, go to the website: Facebook.com/goingundermovie , and "like" it. Contribute to the page by posting, introducing yourself, etc.

And please comment on this page, the indegogo page. Like youtube, the pages with the most comments are featured on the front page, so any help would be great.

Also, on the facebook there are images and posters that you can print out and give to your friends, post at your school, or work, etc.

The biggest thing is to tell your friends. Let them know about the film. Get them interested. And spread the word. Any PR helps. Post links to the facebook page or trailer as your facebook status, set one of the wallpapers for your desktop, etc. Just get people to know about it.

Also, you can also personally message me on Facebook at: facebook.com/carmanmodesto and ask for a press kit once they are available. Just send me an envelope and some stamps, and I can hopefully send you some stickers and some fliers to post around.

Thank you for all of your support guys.
