Our Story
We’re Rademacher, an indie rock band from California. We just finished recording our second full length album, “Baby Hawk”, and will be releasing it in March 2012. We are also traveling to Austin, TX in March for an official showcase at this year’s SXSW music conference.
We release all our music independently and all the expenses for studio time, travel, gas and food come directly out of our pockets. In the past, we’ve released our music exclusively via the internet and on CD. This time around the new album will be available on sites like itunes and bandcamp, but we’d also like to make “Baby Hawk” an actual old school 12” record. We want this record to be on vinyl because we love the warm, classic character that oozes out of a turntable.
The Impact
If we reach our goal you will be helping us get to SXSW. Texas is far from California and gas is not cheap. Neither is maintenance on a van that is over two decades old. We will also be able to master and press our album on vinyl. We’ll be able to print up some awesome t-shirt designs, make CDs, beer koozies, hats, posters and all kinds of products that we can use to promote the album at SXSW as well as sell at shows while we are on the road.
Without your help, it will be incredibly difficult for us to make our way to Austin and back. In 2009, Rademacher was invited to play an official SXSW showcase, but was unable to attend because we couldn’t raise the funds. It would be a real shame for that to happen again.
What We Need & What You Get
Our goal is to raise $5000 through this campaign. $2000 will be used to print a limited run of 500 records. $2000 will be put towards travel expenses we will incur on our way to and from Austin in March. The remaining 1000 dollars of your contributions will be used to manufacture other products, like t-shirts, hats and CDs.
We’re offering a number of perks in exchange for your help. We want to get this record out to as many fans and friends as possible. If you can afford to help us with a $25 contribution, our goal is to send you a copy of the limited edition vinyl version of “Baby Hawk”. If $25 is a bit steep for you, or let’s say you don’t have a turntable, you can contribute as little as $5 and get a digital copy of “Baby Hawk” emailed to you.
Other Ways You Can Help
Not everyone will be able to contribute money towards our goal. We understand that. Times are tough. For folks who can’t contribute cash, but would still like to help, the simplest thing you can do is help us spread the word. You can post a link about this campaign on your facebook, twitter or tumblr. You could tell your friends and co-workers about the campaign or announce it on your radio show, column or blog.
There are a number of tools on this website that you can use to let others know about the campaign, about our upcoming shows, and about our soon-to-be-released record. We hope that you can take a moment and click around on a few things and consider contributing to our campaign. A million thanks to all our fans, our friends and family. Your support means the world to us.
Cheers.
