Our Story

Julie and I first heard about this rally at a community event. It instantly sparked something in us, our sense of adventure and the challenge of no GPS. As we found out more, we discovered it lined up with our passions with The Heart of the Gazelles. We desire to make a difference, and want to inspire others to do the same. That is the driving force behind us. We are ordinary women with extraordinary dreams.  Together we are determined to make this happen and to be an example to every woman that anything is truly possible if you put your mind to it.

The Impact

This is the only rally where women from all over the world can come to compete through the Moroccan desert. They only navigate via map and compass for 9 days. There’s also a medical caravan that goes along Morocco to provide medical, education, and housing for those less fortunate. During this years rally, they will be building a school.  This rally is truly an amazing opportunity to help the benefactor of this event, The Heart of Gazelles.  Your donation does not just go to help us race, it is improving life for those in Morocco. Heart of Gazelles works in collaboration with the Moroccan Government on projects whose importance has been evaluated and analysed. 

Heart of Gazelles projects for the last 3 years:

Medical: The Medical Caravan, sponsored by TOTAL
- 20,000 consultations (General Medicine, Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Optometry),
- 3 births,
- 31 Trachoma operations,
- 3 mammograms submitted for follow-up,
- 92 doctors have provided their services, 
- 1,900 people have received corrective eyeglasses, 
- 37 handicapped people have been referred to appropriate care facilities, 

- 4 metric tons of medical equipment have been given to local hospitals (wheelchairs, consultation tables...).

We are only the 4th American team in this years event.  This event needs more recognition in America and helping us get there will further promote this cause.


What We Need & What You Get

In order to make this race happen, we need you!  This is a great opportunity for you or your company to have a chance for some world wide coverage and marketing.  We can showcase your gear, logo, website, and anything, within reason, your company wants to promote.  This mediatisation is international, and includes Radio-Canada, TF1, Eurosport, TV5 Monde, 2M in Morocco, Elle magazine, L'express, the Journal de Montréal, Chérie FM... Recounting the passion and the sporting exploits of all these women.  
Keep it mind that all company donations are a taxable marketing expense since we will be showcasing your company or product on our website, vehicle, and gear.
Any personal donation will get personal recognition and a big thank you on our site as well as all social media.

We are also currently in the middle of starting our own non-profit, 501 c3 to further help this cause.  We will have this accomplished within this tax year of 2012.

As of now, we have raised 13K but still need another 15K to make this happen.
