Our Story
Originally
conceptualized in 2008, Gamers United is an organization bringing the video
gaming community and industry together, showcasing the positive aspects of
video gaming to the world. Each year we help organizations, such as children's
hospitals, in need of support. Gamers United is dedicated to giving back and
highlighting the video gamers youthful and giving spirit.
The Impact
Do you remember what it feels like to be sick? Do you
remember a time where your had a fever so high you felt as if you were on fire
or felt so weak that even just lying in bed made you uncomfortable? This is
nothing compared to what some of the children in hospitals are feeling and
experiencing every day of their young lives.
This is your chance to make that experience a little bit
easier by providing entertainment that can help act as a temporary escape from
reality as well as be used for rehabilitation and exercise for
recovery.
We need your to help make this dream a reality but
regardless of the outcome of this campaign, we are committed to our cause and
will continue to make a positive impact on children and their families through
video gaming.
What We Need & What You Get
By taking part in this
campaign, you are helping us help children throughout Southern
California. Your contributions will help us purchase new hardware,
software, and additional gaming equipment for hospitals, as well as reach out
to new beneficiaries who may not have gaming options available for
patients. While some games are designed to entertain and escape reality,
we also focus on games that can educate, stimulate, and allow for physical
development. Our goal is to reach out and connect with as many hospitals as we
can and establish gaming centers within these facilities so children will have
a place to escape to outside the confines of their hospital rooms.
Additionally, we are aiming to reach beyond Southern California in the upcoming
months.
This is a unique campaign
because of the varied number of perks available. Some of the perks exclusive to this campaign include artwork
from Andie Tong and Kevin Mellon, in-game art from Game Mechanics, a personalized voicemail recording from True
Blood star Janina Gavankar, as well as prize packs from Nyko, Konami, Disney, Sony Online Entertainment and more.
On behalf of Gamers United and our beneficiaries, thank you
for your support on this campaign.
