~ DETAILS ~

What Exactly is Going On Here?

The GOLD team is going to be at GenCon (the world's biggest RPG convention) August 4-7 this year. It's our big promotional push and we're attempting to make the biggest possible splash: we'll be screening both GOLD Season 1 and Night of the Zombie KIng, participating in several panels and running at least one game. We've even got a booth where you can stop by, say "hi," meet some of the creators & cast, and buy some GOLD merchandise. Which brings us to:

GOLD Merchandise at GenCon and Beyond

Until now, GOLD merchandise (T-shirts, posters, etc.) has been Print-On-Demand. Which means we design it, but it's not actually manufactured until you order it. This has allowed us to have stuff out there for fans to buy (thanks, you amazing fan people) without the significant up-front cost of making, storing & shipping a bunch of merchandise. For a cash-poor company like us, this is important. The problem with POD merch is that a) it is expensive for you (it's an inefficient way to manufacture goods) and b) we see almost no money from it, because the POD company keeps almost all of it. So, for GenCon, we'd like to manufacture some GOLD Merchandise in a more traditional way, so we can offer it at our booth on the GenCon Marketplace floor.

The proceeds from that merch will go toward making more episodes of GOLD. If we reach our goals and can manufacture the full range of stuff, the proceeds from that could go a long way toward finally making GOLD S2 a reality.

Thing is, we need your help to get started.

What You Get

By pledging to this IndieGoGo campaign, you're effectively pre-ordering your GOLD merchandise. We'll thank everyone who contributes on the GOLD website, and GOLD creator David Nett will give a big hug to anyone who contributes & then stops by the GOLD booth at GenCon (Unless you'd rather he didn't. Most people choose to avoid physical contact with him.). And you generate the capital we need to make stuff we can sell online and in-person.

T-Shirts
We'll be printing at least 1 style of t-shirt for sale: it'll sport the simple d20 logo from GOLD. If we raise the full campaign amount ($1500), we'll also print a second style, with the deconstructed d20 logo from Night of the Zombie King, along with the phrase, "This is life. Roll for Damage."

Pint Glasses
We'll be making at least 1 style of GOLD pint glass for sale: it'll sport the simple d20 logo from GOLD. If we raise the full campaign amount ($1500), we'll also make a second style using the deconstructed d20 logo from Night of the Zombie King.

Posters
We'll be doing a real print run of the 11x17 GOLD Season 1 & Night of the Zombie King posters our fans have praised.

What We Need

Make a pledge and select a reward to pre-order your merchandise. We've provided several combinations for you, but if you don't see one that fits your needs, you can make more than one pledge. If we're able to make multiple styles of a given item, we'll contact you after the campaign ends to see what styles/sizes you need.

A Note About LadyGeek T-Shirts

We know you lady geeks are out there. And we know you want t-shirts cut in a more feminine style. And we'd like to make some t-shirts especially for you. Two things stand in the way of this:

  1. Many ladies are comfortable wearing smaller-sized basic t-shirts, while most dudes can't/won't wear the slimmer-fitting, smaller, more feminine lady-tees. So the ladies' tees aren't as versatile a stock item.
  2. Ladies' t-shirts are significantly more expensive to print than basic tees.

So, we'll make you this deal: If this campaign gets to $1750, we'll do a short run of ladies' tees in the GOLD d20 logo style. And if we hit $2000, we'll do a run in the NOTZK style. We'll offer those styles as options when the campaign ends if we hit those milestones. If the campaign goes higher, especially if a lot of LadyGeeks make pre-orders, we'll do bigger runs.

We hope we can do this. GOLD has been well-supported by LadyGeeks, and we wanna show our appreciation.

Extra Details

Just some additional notes for your pledges:

  • The images and videos (there will soon be a video) on this campaign are early, evolving designs for t-shirts & glasses. When we arrive at final designs, we'll let everyone know.
  • Items will be shipped in the week or two after GenCon (it ends August 7)
  • If you pick up your items at our GenCon booth (instead of us shipping them to you), we'll include a little extra something for helping us save that shipping expense.
  • If we don't reach our goal, we'll still print a small run of 1 style of t-shirt and 1 style of pint glass, so everyone will get their rewards. We'll just have to cross our fingers and hope we can sell enough of that merchandise to make up for the shortfall. We sincerely hope it doesn't come to that.

Wait - what is GOLD, anyway?
