Our Story

Im Alexis Niki, and Im an American screenwriter and web series creator living in Paris, France. Im thrilled to announce that My Bitchy Witchy Paris Vacation, the web series that I wrote and produced with my fabulous cast and crew has been accepted into the Los Angeles Web Series Festival (LAWebFest). Our first two episodes will screen at the festival during the weekend of March 25 - 27.

Id like to be in Los Angeles to represent the series and my team. This is where you come in.

What's the Series About?

Bitchy Witchy is a sweet story about mothers and daughters filmed entirely on location in the City of Lights. The tale follows a late-blooming American teen who travels to Paris with her menopausal mom and her pregnant sister.
(Watch the trailer or go directly to our episodes.)

The Impact

To get the series made, my cast and crew donated their time and made many sacrifices. Director Kartik Singh juggled the series shoot during  preparations for his feature film. Cast member Kate Michaels traveled from Switzerland to play the part of Diane, the mom. Esme Buchet-Dek (Miranda) and Pelham Spong (Ashley) juggled school and work schedules. Cinematographer Nicolas Bilder donated equipment as well as time. Composer Rob Gokee scored our episodes into the wee hours of the night.

In exchange, I promised my team to maximize the visibility of the web series. It's now time to keep that promise.

Going to Los Angeles means greater visibility for all of us. It means meeting our fans, getting to know other web series creators, forging bonds with a community, and exchanging experiences and ideas face-to-face as opposed to participating as best we can from nearly 6,000 miles away.

I already have one tentative appointment scheduled with a producer whos interested in Bitchy Witchy and wants to meet me, and Ive been invited to participate on some panels during the festival itself. These are opportunities not to be missed.

What We Need & What You Get

Your contributions will go toward:

the cost of the plane ticket (about $800)

four nights in a hotel ($600)

Meals, transportation, festival tickets, etc.($100 per day=$400)

The total campaign is for $1,800.

Im going to make this trip one way or another, because my team deserves to have someone representing them at the festival. But with your help, I could make the trip AND breathe easy at the same timeinstead of maxing out my credit card and then worrying how Im going to pay it back.

To thank you for climbing aboard the Bitchy Witchy adventure and helping our dreams come true, weve come up with some great perks, which you can read about in the column on the right.

Other Ways You Can Help

Every little bit helps, but as independent filmmakers, we know what its like not to be able to contribute even when you want to. If thats your case, you can still help by talking about us, liking our fan page, and watching the episodes. We depend on word-of-mouth, so please spread the word!

Perks for Just Being Here!

We even have a perk to thank you for having read this far. Please download and enjoy our FREE companion e-book to Bitchy Witchy: Circles Joined to Circles: Real Stories by Real Women on Mothers, Daughters, & Sisters. Thirteen women writers contributed touching and poignant essays expanding upon the themes in the web series. Youll love these stories so much that youll want to share the link with your friends.

Thanks in advance for whatever you can contributeand see you in Hollywood!
