Join veteran chef Susie French, her granddaughter Savannah French and the ever-snooty animated Monsieur Baked as they bring the family back together into the kitchen and into the fascinating warm world of cooking! Children, teenagers, adults and grandparents will all enjoy thematically designed gourmet dishes and treats, how-to recipes and ideas, food and safety guidelines according to the ServSafe program, food facts and history, new food gadgets, food science and a special dish taught by a guest celebrity and son or daughter.
French Kitchen is a live-action / animated kids cooking show taught by veteran chef Susie French, her granddaughter Savannah French and a snooty animated chef character Monsieur Baked. The show is aimed at bringing the family closer together into the ultimate fun learning environmentthe kitchen.
Here the family will learn creative thematic gourmet recipes for appetizers, salads, entres, deserts and snacks. Themes follow seasons and holidays such as spring, summer, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, Valentines Days, etc. Demonstrating the cooking is primarily Savannah as Susie instructs her.
Every episode, critical lessons in food safety and regulations according to the ServSafe are either clearly stated during the cooking demonstration and or shown by use of Monsieur Baked in an animated sequence. By the end of the series, an audience member will have gained enough knowledge to be that of an actual certified ServSafe chef.
Both children and parents are constantly reminded of parent supervision during the uses of any kitchenware, appliances, knives and kitchen utensils.
Learning the way around the kitchen, even a commercial kitchen, will also be covered throughout the series. Very important is the use of the kitchen. Any chef will tell you, knives can only cut you not only when youre not using it right but also when you are afraid of it. In fact, as most parents can tell you, anything in the kitchen whether it is a knife, bread knife or peeler can in some way cut you which is why in every episode Susie, Savannah and Monsieur Baked will thoroughly teach audiences on the safe, proper and confident way of using kitchen tools. Additionally, Susie and Savannah will demo the use of a new favorite kitchen gadget and how to find it.
Bringing their child, grandchild, niece or nephew, every week a different guest star will cameo to share with French Kitchen a different but special recipe of their choosing. Savannah and Susie will follow along as the guest star and child instruct the recipe.
As in the French Kitchen cookbook, audiences will also have the opportunity to learn about facts about food history AND Savannah will teach kids one food science experiment, i.e. rock candy experiment, every week.
