Our Story
Fat Fancy is your radical resale plus size clothing boutique! Our motivation is to remove the stigma from the word Fat and reclaim it to mean something proud and powerful. We sell vintage and modern, plus size clothing, shoes and accessories in both men's and women's styles. Fat Fancy is more than just a store. We refer people to size positive resources, host in-store events such as concerts, readings and workshops about how to love your body, and expose people to the radical idea that every body is beautiful. We keep our clothing affordable and are proud to be an environmentally friendly business!
We put our heart and soul into this business and its mission of spreading body love and size positivity while providing unique and affordable plus size clothing. For the first few years we worked without pay and we continue to hold part time jobs in order to make ends meet. We work six, and sometimes seven days a week. Its challenging to be working class, progressive women business owners in this economy. Sometimes hard work isnt enough. Sometimes you need a little funding behind you, and thats where this campaign comes in...
The Next Level
In order to take Fat Fancy to the next level, we need to institute online sales, begin an in-store buy/sell/trade policy and create a part time job to help with the addition of this workload. People from all over the world are constantly asking us when we will sell online. We simply dont have the money it takes to institute the changes we need to make. Were hoping you will take a moment to consider donating whatever you can spare toward our cause, growth and success. Consider taking the $5 you might spend on a fancy beverage or the $10 you might spend going out to a movie and putting it towards supporting Fat Fancy. We are a revolutionary, community-based business and need your help to grow stronger and more stable while delivering our message and products to the world.
