Update:

Post-production has been a long process so far, but we are extremely close to completion. A lot of hard work is being put into the sound mix for the film and we are planning to release the finished film to the cast, crew, and to all who helped out with this campaign by the end of January, 2012. We will be submitting to Cannes in March, and to several other festivals throughout the Spring as well. Thank you all so much for your generosity, and we look forward to sharing Face Value with you in the near future.

Our Story

We are a group of Cal State Los Angeles students and recent graduates who have gathered together to create a short romantic comedy to submit to 2012 The Cannes Film Festival short corner. We are located in Los Angeles, CA. and are currently in pre-production for our short film "Face Value". Our plan is to shoot during this coming summer if we can acquire the funds necessary.

The Impact

Our short film deals with the issue of taking someone for who they are, rather than how they look. It denounces the highly materialistic mindset that is present in our world today, and focuses more on finding connection through personality and morals. If we are unable to produce this film, this message will not have the chance to be expressed. 

What We Need & What You Get

We are aiming to obtain approximately 5,000 dollars in funding for this project. This money will be going towards various aspects of production including: permits, equipment, crew compensation, festival entry fees, publicity, and  post production. As of now we do not have any other professional funding sources, and the main funding is coming from out of pocket. Any contribution is greatly appreciated, and all funds will go directly to a joint account specifically made for the film, so rest assured - no funds will be used for personal gain whatsoever.

This campaign will raise money to fund a short romantic comedy that is guaranteed registration to the Cannes short corner circuit through Cal State Los Angeles' festival program, ensuring exposure to foreign markets present. The short corner of the festival can only be attended by filmmakers with accreditation, and this accreditation title will be provided upon submission to the Cal State Los Angeles program.  We will give an associate producer credit to all those who help fund if you do not donate anonymously.
