Let's change publishing!

Our Story

We are Spectacle Publishing Media Group, LLC. Our story begins not too long ago with a group of MFA Creative Writing students brimming with talent and drive, though just a little disenchanted with the business of creative writing. We started this because the publishing industry is difficult and more often than not, if you don't know the right people, you are left out. Like all good artists and rebels, we chose to take matters into our own hands. By combining our collective skills, diverse backgrounds and industry knowledge we have created a start-up publishing company for eBooks and traditional printing.

What makes us different is our approach to publishing. Great work will sell itself. We're not worried about that. What Spectacle Publishing Media Group does differently is nurture our authors. We provide real, constructive critique. We take an active interest in the career and success of our writers. We become partners in the creative process.

We want to publish writers. We want to stop the pattern of starving artists. We want to allow the new talent to share their stories. We're a writer's best friends.

The Impact

The Present

The old paradigm of writers starving, scurrying around after agents and then publishers ends now! At Spectacle Publishing Media Group, we chase writers down and are always open for submissions! We believe the creative writing industry has become top-heavy and procedural, with difficult processes for new talent to muddle through. We want to change all that.

Our goals are simple: Publish great stories from great writers. We want to take the burden of fear and anxiety out of being a writer. What makes us unique compared to other publishers is that we have author relationship managers who help authors through the process of publishing eBooks and Traditional print books. We have expert editors and in depth knowledge of fiction, storytelling, spinning a good yarn. Unlike many contemporary publishers, we work to help our authors grow and be successful.

On the Brink...

We have already begun. On the Brink is our dual fiction anthology publication. These twin collections of fiction feature tales of the fork-in-the-road that leads a person to and through a life-changing event.

The Future

We want to offer hope. Too often in today's world great talent lost from our cultural awareness because of resources. We want to change that. A major aspect of our organization is a burgeoning community outreach program. We plan to provide extra-curricular writing workshops with local schools (local is geographically relative).  Each of our founders has an MFA in Creative Writing and we want to share our skills, our knowledge of the craft and industry with people who would otherwise not consider a career as a writer. What a loss our society sustains everyday, unaware, as the stories of the inner city, urban life and culture are not written down and shared. We will change that.
