A court has ruled that ‘Mac’ must release his claim to 5,000 acres of West Virginia wilderness that his family has called home since the Civil War. Instead, SOE, an international energy conglomerate will be building miles of wind turbines to harvest the near constant breeze on the property.

An SOE agent is sent to the property to reason with ‘Mac’ and, if needs be, to use whatever means necessary to force him out. A young friend of Mac’s, BJ, is seriously hurt while passively resisting the commencement of construction, an incident that finds its way onto YouTube. Seasoned security contractors arrive to safeguard the site and equipment; however, the sheriff has to step in to disperse the crowd, as locals, who flocked to the site to demand justice and voice their displeasure, turn violent.

Night-time raids to find the instigators of the previous day’s violence further enrage the local populace and end up destroying a key road into the town. National Guard troops are sent to survey the damage and restore order. A raid on the construction site shortly after the National Guard’s arrival prompts a request for additional forces. As the mayor of the small town attempts to sneak past the National Guard blockade, NORTHCOM deploys its combat brigade to the crisis, leading to a climatic confrontation.
