OUR STORY

Back before the internet existed, two little girls, living in different countries fell in love with the world of ElfQuest (You can too! All the comics are viewable at www.elfquest.com). The fantastical and adventurous world of two moons instilled the courage they would some day need to embark on an quest of their own. 

Always holding this series dear, they grew up, and followed their dreams out to sunny LA, where they now are both working actors/producers

Then one hot day in August, through the magic of cyberspace and the web TV community, they rediscovered their shared childhood love of all things created by Wendy and Richard Pini, 

and a plan was hatched...
 
WHY YOU SHOULD CARE

Stephanie and Paula realized that they were in a unique position, having the resources, knowledge, and access to the talent base to finally bring the world they loved so much to life with all the production value it deserved. Their hope is that in doing so, they will possibly help ignite the passion of the big studio which holds the rights to move forward with the film, and (fingers triple crossed) to consider casting some of the very elfin ladies they've chosen to be a part of it as well.

Please help this childhood fantasy (and possibly so much more) come true for Paula Rhodes (who tried to dress like an elf on the first day of kindergarden) and Stephanie Thorpe (who pinched her ears every night as she fell asleep with the hopes that they would be more pointy in the morning). 

WHAT WE NEED & WHAT YOU GET

 

This project is a celebration of our love of Elfquest, we are not looking to make money, all we need to do is cover our expenses. 

These costs include:

*Our Crew and equipment rental costs - we are getting heart meltingly awesome donations of friend's talents as far as free or beyond-discounted fees, but we still need to cover a bit, and these end up being $1500.

*Costumes for our cast of 12 - hand made, the labor is being donated (WOW!), but the fabric costs mount up.

*Lodging and food for cast and crew in our forest location (about 17 people), it will run about $600 for renting a cabin that sleeps us all for the weekend and $500 for food. 

*Plus there is the indiegogo % fee to budget in.
*And of course, The Ears sculpted and made - (one of our largest expenses, quoted between $425 and $1800)we are committed to bringing the story to life according to Wendy Pini's vision, so no storebought short halloween elf ears here, we shall have long graceful ones and stay true to the look of the books.

We've chosen a certain slice of time in the EQ Universe and picked the actors who most closely resembled the female elves who were alive then, and who were key to the visuals and story. We eagerly await being able to share it with you. We will announce more members of the cast as the deadline approaches, so stay tuned ;)

Please please please, help us spread the word. We have very little time to raise our needed funds, but we can do it! Pass our cause on to your friends, fellow ElfQuest fans, fans of the actors we have involved, family, and those who like to make Paula & Stephanie smile.

UPDATE: YAY! We reached our goal in the first week!!! Thank you more than words can say to all of you who contributed. The site is still up, and the funds won't be released to us until November as we originally set (such is the way of indiegogo.com), but any amount we raise above and beyond this will go into the project to make it even more amazing (upgraded lights, lenses, etc...).
