The Story

As a worship leader, writer, songwriter and pastor I love the local church. I have been humbled to be itinerate this past year and see how beautiful the body of Christ is whether its a church of 5000 or 200. The conversations about worship on my podcast and blog and at conferences inspired me more than ever to love the local church.

Last month I released a single "Wonder of Worship" which as one person said is like a "manifesto" about modern church liturgy today. The same producers, Greg Johnson and Beau Trembly of the band On Being Human are the producers of this 4-song original worship project. I am calling it "Drink The Divine".  These guys are amazing, so expect it to be quality and musically diverse.

The Impact

There is something God is calling the church to sing. Loving God and loving people is what Jesus fused together, so our worship should include both our love for God and others, especially the least of these. So, the line in the song you just heard–"Show God's love to the least of these, with this religion God is pleased"–echoes the words of Jesus. Religion is not a bad word when we live it like Jesus. Here is the plan.

Once the costs of recording and digitally distributing the song are paid for, I have chosen to give all of the profit from online sales (iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Bandcamp, etc.) to Doma International--their motto "empowering women, embracing children". They want to empower women to help end the orphan cycle. And, they work directly with orphans as well. You can see a video I made from a trip I went on with them and please check their site out. I believe in what they are doing to, and I hope you can get on board, too. I wanted the very process of this project to be it's message.

What We Need & What You Get

We need a bit over $1500 to cover the production of the music and posting of the project online. Once all the project costs are covered, we hope to succeed in helping Doma International through this project. Any additional money raise beyond the above costs will go to print hard copies and marketing the project. 

You get some perks! A song download, the project on hard copy. The perk of investing in something that supports the "least of these" perhaps is the biggest perk, however.
