Our Story
We are a group of passionate independent filmmakers based in Los Angeles who seek to inspire and motivate others through the art of motion pictures.
Meet the Filmmakers
Trevor Algatt / writer, actor & associate producer: Trevor is an actor/writer, musician, and year-round competitive swimmer in Los Angeles. Like the cream cheese, he's from Philadelphia.
A long-time "corps" member of the critically acclaimed Los Angeles Theatre Ensemble, Trevor has worked on and helped developed a number of award-winning plays, including all three installments of The War Cycle. In March 2011, L.A. Weekly recognized the Ensemble's work on The War Cycle with a special award, citing "excellence, technical accomplishments, and breadth of vision."
Trevor is also the creator, co-producer, and co-host of Inside Acting, a weekly podcast featuring in-depth, unbiased interviews with industry professionals of all callings.
Mark Gantt / director: Mark's latest project that he co-wrote, produced, and starred in called The Bannen Way has been an incredible success. Financed by Sony's Crackle distribution arm, this unique Web Series/Feature Film has broken records with over 14 million views, won 4 Streamy Awards including Best Actor (Mark) and Best Drama.
Most recently, Mark is pitching a new series called LoveMakers, has directed episodes of branded series, Suite 7 and guest-stars in The Guild. Before creating The Bannen Way, Mark wrote, directed, produced and/or edited over a dozen of short films. He has also acted in many films and TV series.
Carolina Groppa / producer: Carolina defines herself as a full-time hustler. She recently produced a theater production of the comedy "Spike Heels" and has other producing projects in various stages of production. In addition, Carolina also helped bring financing to BRAKE, an indie thriller starring Stephen Dorff.
As a multi-hyphenate, Carolina also works as an actor, makeup artist, and on occasion, a painter. If you wish to stalk her further, check out her IMDB.
The Impact
Donor came to be as a result of collaboration, donated time and talent, and a desire to tell a crucial story about what happens to a couple when the girl decides to donate one of her eggs. Egg donation is a a very controversial topic for spiritual, ethical, and social reasons. While some might argue that it interferes with God's will, others have capitalized on the unregulated fertility business which generates an estimated $38 million a year.
