Thirty-five million Americans are dyslexic. Billy Bob Thornton is one of them. So are Whoopi Goldberg and Joe
Pantoliano. I’m Harvey Hubbell V and I’m
dyslexic, too. The team and I have
created a documentary on dyslexia to spread awareness about this learning
difference by showing not only personal struggles, but also our undertaking to
shed light on the latest dyslexia research for the public, educators, and
policymakers.
With this film, we hope to change the educational system so that
it doesn’t do to others what it did to me growing up -- left me behind, without
the skills to survive in the “real” world.
Dislecksia: The Movie will be the conversation starter that changes
public awareness and public policy towards this learning difference. Dislecksia: The Movement will be what you
become a part of when you donate to this film.
With the participation of numerous celebrities, we’ve gained
worldwide support (we’re pretty big in ) for this documentary, and
are within ninety days of finishing the film.
These celebrity voices will be heard, and now with your donation, your
voice will be heard as well. We’ve
waited to get Dislecksia: The Movie out for a long time, and now we’re asking
for your help. During the past several
years, hundreds of people have worked on Dislecksia: The Movie—now you can
become part of the team of scientists, celebrities, moms, educators, students,
and even camera guys, who already believe in this cause.
No contribution is too little, and every dollar counts
towards our goal. Successfully raising
these funds will help to pay for a new film website, Dislecksia’s end credits,
as well as an original musical score.
Throughout the course of our campaign, we’ll be posting updates of the
website and the credits so you can see where your dollars are going. Some rewards will also allow for your name to
be immortalized within the website and the end credits so your donation will
remain forever within Dislecksia: The Movie.
You can also help us by sharing our various social media sites to help get others involved. We'd love if you could share our IndieGogo campaign with all your friends and family, but we also have Facebook and Twitter pages we'd love for you all to join.
