What is "Desolation"?

"Desolation" is a low-budget horror film currently in production in Albuquerque, NM.

The infection only took weeks to ravage the planet, and the undead have taken over. After months of hiding, two unlikely survivors set out on a personal journey of redemption. But what impact could it possibly have when it's becoming clear that everyone else is dead?

"Desolation" won't be your average zombie movie. We're set to deliver all the great zombie action you'd expect, but we also intend to tell a very human story. Expect to laugh and think and cry and...and...lots of other stuff.

Believe me when I tell you that we are chomping at the bit to tell you more about the story, but that would just ruin all the fun twists and turns we have in store. You want to be surprised when you see it don't you?

Who's making this movie? (This is where we get to pretend that we're famous!)

"Desolation" is being produced by a ragtag group of filmmaking misfits that come together under the name Miscreant Films. As a group we have produced two feature length films and too many shorts to count.

What's the deal with the funding appeal? (Hey, that rhymes!)

Here at Miscreant Films, we pride ourselves on being fairly self contained. For the most part we own our equipment and we have a core group of fantastic people dedicated to making awesome movies. With each new film we strive to keep our costs down as low as humanly possible while simultaneously increasing our quality on each project.

With this in mind, there are just some costs that inevitably goes along with shooting a feature. That's where this appeal comes in. Every dollar that is raised for "Desolation" goes into equipment, prop, and makeup costs as well as daily needs during the shoot (Gas, Food, etc...)

Regardless of whether we meet our funding goal or not, "Desolation" is happening! Principal photography starts on May 1st, 2011 with an intensive seven day shoot planned.
