About The Show
Vegan Mashup, season one:
Delicious TV is developing a six episode season of fun and lively new 1/2 hour cooking show to be distributed to U.S. public television stations. And we're also seeking other distribution opportunities, including cable, online venues, and international stations.
Join Terry Hope Romero, Toni Fiore, Miyoko
Schinner, in their kitchens as they each share treasured recipes, from light
appetizers to complete holiday meals. Best of all, you won’t need to be a full
time vegan to enjoy these mouth watering dishes. Even carnivores are known to
live without meat for a meal.
Terry’s Latina American style is sharp, and funny, and she’s
known to make sassy tacos, Toni’s
been called the vegetarian Carmela Soprano, as she serves up easy, healthy
dishes, with a kick. And Miyoko’s Japanese
style of elegant simplicity matches her love of vegan cheeses. And to really Mash it
up we’ll have a surprise guest each week. Four talented cooks delivering
four delicious recipes every week. So tune in, and break out your
chopping board.
Why We Need Your Help
The project funds will be used for production in New York,
California, Maine and elsewhere. Post-production and effective outreach will
also be funded. Delicious TV has a
proven track of producing entertaining programming and we hope you’ll help us
make this new show happen. We simply can't do it without community and fan
support. We have an opportunity to showcase many talented vegan chefs who prove
that vegan food is delicious and kinder to animals and the planet.
The filmmaker
Betsy Carson has a passion for sharing the benefits of a plant-based diet, and is driven by the lack of vegan programming options. Since 2005 she has produced 52 episodes of the popular public television program Totally Vegetarian. And a top 10 recipe podcast VegEZ, now seen by more than 4 and a half million people and counting. She also created and produced Vegan Hotspot, a celebrity dining series podcast that can be viewed online at www.veganhotspot.com. Both podcasts were nominated for a Taste TV Award. With a desire to once again reach the wider television audience she's ready for her next big adventure: Vegan Mashup.
