Our Story
We are a team of (mostly) young independent film-makers based in the San Antonio, Texas area producing an internet television show.
What is Deathfist Ninja GKaiser?
Deathfist Ninja GKaiser' is an affectionate parody of Japanese tokusatsu
(special effect) shows like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai (known as
Power Rangers in the U.S.). The film also parodies American pop culture
from the 80's and 90's.

SERIES SYNOPSIS:
In the distant past a Dark Overlord of the Universe attempted to conquer
the parallel world Manga-Land. The Gold Dragon, protector of
Manga-Land, defeated the Dark Overlord by sacrificing his own body.
Now it is the present day and the Dark Overlord has reincarnated as a
mega maniacal software company executive, forming the Legion of Spooky
Doom to once again threaten the peace of the world.
Responding to the threat, a wizard who serves the Gold Dragon tries
to summon a 'hero' to take on the mantle of GKaiser, a human vessel for
the Gold Dragon's power.....but instead fumbles the spell and transports
a 'zero' from our world: luckless loser Howard. Howard is both
inexperienced and incompetent, but is encouraged by Jemma, a rising pop
singer and the first person he managed to save from criminals.
With no chance of returning home until the Dark Overlord is defeated,
Howard must fight to protect an unfamiliar world and learn what it
means to be a true hero.
You can read more about the story at the following blog post, http://deathfistninjagkaiser.blogspot.com/2010/12/what-heck-is-deathfist-ninja-gkaiser.html
The web series is based on the webcomic 'Deathfist Ninja GKaiser',
written by Carey Martell under the pen-name 'Jim Freedan'. The show
will be a "reboot" of the comic's story, retaining most of the
characters but with an eye to making the story appeal to a wider
audience. Our goal is to make a show that will be enjoyable for both
adults and children, and filled with lots of pop culture humor.
The episodes are to stream on the Martell Brothers Studios' Youtube Partner channel and always be free to watch.
The episodes may also appear on other video streaming services we have publisher accounts with, such as Crunchyroll and blip.tv
The episode will be shot in HD on a Sony NEX-VG10, an interchangeable
lens system camera.
We
are asking for $1,000 to further improve the props, costumes and set design, as well as renting better film-making equipment BUT
if we raise more than $1,000 we will spend the additional funds toward
purchasing the equipment rather than renting it, so we can use that equipment for the entire show run (this would be cheaper in the long run than constantly paying day rental fees).
