The Story

Daddy Warblocks is a fictional short film about about loss and acceptance. It tells the story of an artist and philanthropist who gave up on life after his wife died. He never leaves his home, and has his food delivered to him. One night, instead of the usual delivery boy, a strange African man delivers a bag containing magic toy bricks. Once he finds out that the bricks can create life, he attempts to rebuild his family. The effort to reconstruct a fantasy from the past teaches him a valuable lesson about his present and future.

We've Partnered with LEGO brick artist Nathan Sawaya!

Nathan Sawaya is the number one LEGO brick artist. He's based in New York and LA, and creates awe-inspiring works out of LEGO. He will be creating several pieces for this short film including two life-size statues of our actors. To see more work from Nathan, visit the site below:

What We Need From You

A significant amount of the budget will be for the brick sculptures that Nathan Sawaya creates of two actors and one large bird puppet. The rest of the budget will pay the actors, equipment rental, locations, art and props department, film festivals, wardrobe, and food for the cast and crew, excluding the Director(s) and main Producer. Any further questions regarding the budget and/or production can be directed here: storybirdfilms@gmail.com -- feel free to ask anything.

Where the Film is Going?

Following its completion in August, Daddy Warblocks will be submitted into several film festivals including: Sundance, Cannes and the Berlin Film Festival.

Any help makes all the difference!

Whether you can or cannot donate to Daddy Warblocks, we ask that you please help us spread the word in any way possible so that we may reach a broader audience. Post it on your Facebook, Twitter or anywhere you think it will get attention. We appreciate any support and help that is put towards this project, it means a lot!
